Greetings to All,

Spending nine days in Jamaica recently rejuvenated me. Not that there was necessarily anything wrong before, but being home again at each of our resorts had the desired affect of engaging my heart and enriching my spirit.

Love was everywhere I turned. I could sense it in the prideful steps of COR gardener, Rohan, after he finished sculpting his heliconia plant and in the delicate attention from CSS Pastry Chef, Linval, as he gleamed over his artwork of desserts. I could feel the love in the welcoming smile of CNG bartender, Tennyson, who I met on my first day with Couples Resorts over five years ago and again when Ultimate spotted me from his piano bench at CSA.

Love happens naturally at Couples Resorts, without conscious thought, so it is no surprise that the love imported by our loyal guests is absorbed by our staff and exported back in triplicate. Our Entwined Palms logo symbolizes inseparable love. It is a bond of unity, of oneness, where couples become stronger by reconnecting with one another. As guardians of romance, we are acutely aware of the role we play in creating an environment where love thrives.

It was only upon reflection during my flight back to Florida that I understood how disconnected we can become when we are away from our Jamaican home for too long. In today’s world, there are many distractions intent on weakening or interfering with how and who we love. We negotiate our way daily through an emotional obstacle course to avoid negativity in all forms. Sometimes we triumph. Sometimes we get mired in the quicksand of daily routine. Sometimes we must simply pack our bags (and leave our baggage behind) to experience first-hand what makes Couples Resorts so special.

The Message Board thread started by Lindat titled “I can’t stop the tears” epitomizes the inescapable bond that is created with our guests. Whether you return every year or every ten years, there is no better use of a vacation than sharing and reconnecting with someone you love.

Come home soon!
Luv n’ Life,

Randy Russell
