Staff Spotlight

All of our employees strive to make your stay at Couples Resorts a memorable experience. We know from both guests and staff how much you all enjoy interacting with each other. We appreciate their hard work so please share comments, memories and stories about your experiences with our staff members. In this season’s Staff Spotlight we have Clyon, Colin, Tamara and Novia.

Clyon Everton Grant, Couples Swept Away
Clyon is always smiling behind the bar at Couples Swept Away. For four years and seven months, “Bobboge” has been the friendly face stirring up drinks and making people smile. This Jamaican resident’s favorite place on the island is Couples Swept Away where he loves to serve the guests and interact with them, learning about their culture. When Bobboge is not behind the bar, this 25-year-old is actively bouncing around somewhere playing football, cricket, volleyball or dominoes. Or, he may be relaxing while listening to Bob Marley or Third World and eating oxtail. A true bartender knows what to bring to a deserted island – a bottle of Appleton, a bottle of water and some reggae music. There is no doubt he would be having a good time.

Colin Fisher, Couples Ocho Rios
WIf you can’t find Colin Fisher on the tennis courts, then you will find him at home in Ocho Rios with his family. This family man has been the tennis pro at Couples Ocho Rios for the last 12 years, providing quality tennis lessons and ensuring guests are satisfied. Colin, more casually known as ‘Bunleg’, is a master of teaching tennis – he recalls a time when a guest said she had tried tennis many times, but never did well. After just four days with Colin, she was as good as Venus Williams and now plays all the time. Colin enjoys the music of Aretha Franklin and loves to cook with his wife and children. If he was on a deserted island he would bring food, water and his wife.

Tamara Cassandra Cranston, Couples Sans Souci
Tamara, better known as Julia, enjoys her job at the front desk greeting and meeting people from all over the world. In the short three months she has been at Couples Sans Souci, Julia has learned that there is no greater feeling than to make sure someone else is happy. She prides herself on providing guests a memorable and wonderful vacation. You can probably find Julia singing or dancing behind the desk – she loves to be moving to the music. Julia resides in Tower Isle, St. Mary where you can probably find her eating Jamaica’s traditional ackee and saltfish, listening to Morgan Heritage or watching Dirty Dancing. If she was stranded on a deserted island, Julia would want food, water and a man!

Novia Burnadette Smith, Couples Negril
Novia takes great pride in working behind the scenes for Couples Negril. As an accounts payable clerk she is responsible for preparing checks, invoices and suppliers’ reconciliation. From time to time she gets out of the office and assists guests with navigating the property. During the past seven years, ‘Novi’ has appreciated the organization of the company and takes pride in the fact that Couples Negril is recognized internationally. A Cauldwell resident, Novi likes to go to church and listen to the local gospel group called the Grace Thrillers. She spends most of her free time taking care of her family and her house. If she was stranded on a deserted island, much like Colin and Julia, she would take food, water and her spouse.
