What moment, sight or sound gets you…

The last few memories were so well received, that we have again chosen from the long list of beautiful moments for this season’s newsletter. It is so lovely to know how many of you grow close to Jamaica and think of it as a second home. Each visit creates another chapter of memories and a warm feeling of happiness. We hope you enjoy these shared moments as much as we did…

Just returned from CN last night...

I can still hear the soft sounds of the surf caressing the shore, the quiet 'peeps' of the frogs standing guard in the trees in the night and the quiet murmur and laughter of guests still sharing stories of old, with friends just made and creating memories for 'new' stories to be told in their future life.

I was surprised by the 'sizzle' of the coral reef as we floated in the silent underwater world, snorkeling and following fish about as they fluidly fluttered and flitted this way and that.

Stuton...at the swimup bar...who literally provided me with liquid courage to do the cave jumps (twice)...Who's HUGE smile and warm eyes so genuinely ask “And what for you my lady?” and “We're gettin' jiggy with it!” He was soooo much fun.

I truly miss Jamaica, the staff and the amazing, wonderful people we met there, some from this board and others by chance. It's a place to which we will return...over and over and over and over...

Getting off the airplane in Newark, NJ (waiting for a connection) I asked a question of a maintenance worker...Needless to say as soon as he uttered a word, I heard the Jamaican accent and a huge smile covered my face...I said 'You're from Jamaica! We just got back from there! And he said...Well now ma'am...you never really leave now do you!'

AHHHH Man...Couldn't have said it better myself!

I love the quietness of the gardens. My room is perfect! Floor to ceiling Plantation Shutters are all around me to let the Jungle in. My veranda is huge with chairs, plants and a hammock. I crawl into the hammock and my eyes instantly close. I don't hear people or waves...what I hear is a gentle breeze trough the Palms. If I could only capture this peace and bring it with me.

The brilliant smiles of the staff as they greet you, make conversation with you, check on you, entertain you. The warmth with which you are welcomed at every opportunity. The ease with which the staff smiles, laughs, plays and works.

The people of Jamaica are what make it so special - hopefully their ways will rub off on the rest of us while we visit their beautiful homeland. Let's all learn from their positive attitudes. The world truly will be a much better place if we do!

TMy soon to be husband and I finish a delicious lobster meal in the main dining room of CSA. Our tummies are full and we are happy from a warm buzz that the champagne has given us. We decide the warm Jamaican evening would be perfect for an evening swim. Up the beach somewhere there is a reggae band playing. My fiancé is swimming near the shore, dragging his fingers in the sand searching for a little piece of Heaven to bring back to freezing North Dakota with us. (Its snowing as I type this!) I'm swimming further from the shore and stop to dance to the reggae music. The sounds of the steel drums makes a smile spread across my face, and the music captivates me while I continue to dance with the sea. My arms wet from the Caribbean waters, they glisten from the moon as I raise them out of the sea. Jamaica and all it has to offer has captured me. I don't ever want to go back to North Dakota. Why can't I just stay at HOME???
