June 21, 2005 The Summer Solstice
Greetings to all our loyal guests - and newbies:
For many of us, summertime means family outings, barbeque and backyard pool parties. For others, it is a time to celebrate our love and reconnect with resort family and friends at Couples Resorts over a round of Red Stripes and Jamaica’s version of BBQ - Jerk Chicken. We believe (of course, we are somewhat biased) that there is “fun”-damental need to do those things that provide you with the greatest emotional reward.
Or… at least try Couples Resorts’ famous Jerk Chicken.
From June 10-12, Couples Resorts participated in another kind of summer kickoff event the 23rd Annual Food & Wine Magazine Classic in Aspen. Dozens of the world’s top chefs, world-renowned vineyards and hundreds of food and beverage purveyors gathered in Aspen, Colorado to strut their stuff for nearly 5,000 paying guests during this three day event.
Amidst all the glitz and glamour of the event, Couples Resorts shined. Couples Ocho Rios Chef Ulyses Davis served approximately 6,800 appetizer portions of Jerk Chicken on traditional Hard Dough bread. (I alone ate at least two dozen portions). Couples Ocho Rios’ guests know Ulyses as the breakfast chef extraordinaire with the thumbs-up greeting and the never-ending smile. Summertime. Time to come “home” to Couples Resorts.
